Meet Heidi Neuberg
Hi, I am Heidi Neuberg …
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor in Morristown, New Jersey. *
I am also a trained Divorce Mediator.
In my counseling practice, EVE Counseling & Coaching, LLC, I provide client-centered Counseling to people who are bravely facing many of life’s challenges, including: depression, anxiety and mood disorders; self-esteem, domestic violence, grief; career change; relationship concerns, parenting issues as well as separation and divorce.
Many clients, I have worked with during my 20+ years as a Counselor, express distress, frustration, pain and sadness as they try to survive a litigated divorce and manage their lives in the aftermath. I have seen individuals and families devastated by lengthy and often financially crippling divorce settlements in which they virtually had no say.
The entire process can leave people feeling exhausted, powerless and unsure about how to rebuild their lives or how to continue as a family under two roofs. And so often there seems to be a spirit of who “wins” and who “loses”, which can set a negative tone for any future interactions. Often the needs of the child become lost in the endless debates about schedules, budget, and “he said/she said” arguments.
My interest to help divorcing couples find an effective alternative to divorce by trial led me to start a practice in Divorce Mediation. I am knowledgeable in Principled Negotiation Mediation, developed at the Harvard Negotiation Project of Harvard University Law School. I am a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and the Divorce Mediator for A Mindful Mediation, LLC.
I advocate an approach to mediation that decreases the negative emotions and conflict that often dominate the divorce process. Once we have established common ground, I coach my clients to concentrate on their shared concerns and goals for the future, including co-parenting if applicable.
Just like my counseling practice, my approach to divorce mediation aligns with my personal values and principles to which I hold myself: maintaining strict confidentiality, showing mutual respect and communicating with integrity.
